2018 was an important year for Crystal Lagoons® in terms of growth in the United States. The company opened lagoons in iconic master-planned communities (MPCs) around the country and has several more in the pipeline that are planned to be inaugurated this coming year. These milestones are reflected in the 2018 real estate ranking headed by real estate developers RCLCO (formerly Robert Charles Lesser & Co.) Among the 50 most commercially successful developments are three Crystal Lagoons projects: Lake Nona, Florida (15), Balmoral, Texas (42), Lago Mar, Texas (43).
This is not the first recognition that the multinational innovation complexes have received in the USA. In 2017, the ranking of the 50 best-selling residential real estate projects in that country, overseen by John Burns Real Estate Consulting, placed projects with these bodies of water among the first places, displacing developments with golf courses.
Two of the projects in the ranking located in Texas -Balmoral and Lago Mar- are in partnership with Land Tejas and incorporate a crystalline lagoon of 1 and 5 hectares, respectively. In fact, Texas is the state that the multinational projects within the next 5 years as its main market as its portfolio increases to include a series of paradisiacal lagoons in different stages of development throughout the country.
Communities on the 2018 list of the top-selling MPCs experienced average growth of approximately 5% over their totals in 2017 for those that were previously ranked. Texas, Florida, and California account for 67% of total sales among the 50 top-selling communities.
Crystal Lagoons currently has 21 deals across the nation – including several others in Texas, and another 60 that are currently in active negotiations.
Texas is currently home to iconic real estate developments such as the Balmoral community in Humble, which celebrated the grand opening of the first man-made, crystalline lagoon in Texas last August, in which the multinational’s official global ambassador and swimming champion, Michael Phelps, made a guest appearance. Another highly anticipated development is located in landlocked North Texas town of Prosper. Although the town isn’t known for its beaches, it may be by next summer, when another Crystal Lagoons tropical style lagoon in the Windsong Ranch is inaugurated in the master-planned community.
Since 1994, RCLCO has conducted a national survey identifying the top-selling master planned communities. The firm surveyed MPCs throughout the country to establish the 50 top-selling communities as of 2018.
To date worldwide, 600 crystalline lagoons have been completed, started or planned by Crystal Lagoons.
